In our interview with Nathan, we weren’t just inspired with his incredible success at such a young age, but also excited to see what the future is going to look like for him.
What inspired you to start your business?
I know the struggle businesses face when it comes to growing an online presence. My mission through Teko is to help business owners find clarity and develop an understanding that through an online presence business growth is possible and that it can contribute to their business success.
What makes you so unique?
I don’t see myself unique. I am just trying to be the best person I can be. I have a dream and I am working very hard towards it.
How do you handle the naysayers?
I remain positive always.
What is your vision of your business?
Continue to grow Teko into a great Australian Company and continue expanding across the globe providing global solutions to business owners.
Where do you envision yourself in the next 5 years? How do you plan to do this?
Utilise the success of Teko to help other young teenagers with their business ideas by helping and encouraging them turn their ideas into reality.
What has been a challenge you’ve had to overcome that has shaped you and your business?
I think that other people’s perception may be that I am young and in-experienced from both a life and business perspective, but from my perspective I don’t let this phase me because I feel that I am mature beyond my years. I focus on achieving my ambition of creating a successful business.
Who inspires you?
I am inspired by my family and closes friends who continue to show and provide support and add value throughout my journey in fulfilling my dream.
My tech role models are:
What has been the biggest tip you have received off someone that has stuck with you?
I have received many tips from business people but one that has stood out the most is from my father, Samuel; “You don’t have to be the best person in the world. If you try your best, that’s the main thing. We’re not born to be the best at everything. Find that one thing and work towards your dreams.”
What is a tip that you would give to a young person thinking about starting a business, but not sure how to start?
I’ve mentioned this a few times on my blog website and social channels. There is so much time. I would suggest to the young person to try different things and then decide what they would like to do for the rest of their live when they are comfortable with that one thing. Surround yourself with positive people and people who have been there and done that. Learn from them and then implement what you’ve learnt into your business.
